Of course, you’ve probably already made the diapers and your kid loves them! However, now is the fun part of adding a little something extra to the diapers that you’ve already made.
If they want to dive a little bit deeper into the pretend world, then having some wipes and a wipe case is definitely something you’re going to want to look into doing. This is yet another cute and easy project that is great for beginners.
If you want to make something to go with those diapers – then why not wipes and a wipe case?
What You’ll Need:
• Fat Quarters – 3 of them for case
• A piece or two of felt for wipes
• Measuring Tape
• Sewing Machine
• Scissors
The wipes in this are the easiest to make. You just need to grab your piece or two of felt and cut it into smaller squares.
Think just a little smaller than normal wipes. You want them to easily roll up and fit inside the case, so don’t make them overly big. One piece of felt should make around 6 wipes.
You will want to measure out the pieces to make the case. This is what is going to hold the wipes inside it.
It is not going to be hard, but it is more for pretend and it can be super cute once finished.
3.5″ for the flap on top
Embellishment shape of choice – I chose circles to go with my fabric
6 x 6.5″ for the case itself
Once this is done, you’re going to want to create an opening for the wipes to go through. You can do a circle or oval shape in the middle of one of the larger pieces of fabric.
I just folded mine in half and then cut a half oval shape into it.
You then want to sew the embellishments onto the flap. This is the smaller piece of fabric. You can then sew the flap right above the hole that you cut into one of the pieces.
This is going to keep the wipes covered when they’re not in use.
Place the two pieces right side in and then sew around the outside. You want to make sure that you don’t sew the flap to the pieces.
Leave a small opening on one of the sides that you’re sewing.
Turn the case right side out.
From here, you will want to roll up the wipes to place inside the case. You can do this by setting one halfway down on top of the other and so on.
You can then easily roll them up and stick them inside the case.
Rolling them this way allows you to have another wipe pop out when the first one is taken out. You can then keep doing this each time all of the wipes are used from the case.
I didn’t go around the outside of my case with an extra stitch, but you’re more than welcome to add a patch or two if you think it will make the case look a bit fancier!
